Is boxing good for the body?
Boxing is great if you are wanting to express your body through exercise. Boxing gets your muscles pumping and ready to work. Boxing also helps lower the risk of having high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, and diabetes. It strengthens your muscles and strengthens bones, lifts moods, and burns more calories.
Boxing will definitely put you in shape physically and mentally. Boxing will help you will your balance, increase muscle mass, coordination, reduce stress, and will improve stamina. Pounding a punching bag and skipping really helps your whole body as it's a whole-body workout.
Disadvantages?
The disadvantages with boxing are definitely the injuries you can get. Injuries like fractions in your body, black eyes, and brain damage so I would only do the training unless you're looking for someone to bash. If training, you will have very minimal physical contact.
You will definitely need protective gear such as mouth guards, hand wraps, and boxing gloves. You need to perfect all the techniques including movement, footwork, dodging, guarding, knowing your limits, and breathing.
Advantages?
Boxing helps with self-confidence, reflexes and endurance, composure, flexibility, and control. professional boxers are in great shape and they have perfect muscular abilities, being in control of your body is a great thing especially when you can control how long you workout for and how long you train.
How long should I box to perfect boxing?
You might think that the boxers you see on the TV are perfect at their job but of course they arent, boxers all have flaws which mean no one is perfect at boxing. That's not to say they are not good at their jobs, professional boxing is an art that requires years of training and discipline and all boxers have a different technique.
If you want to become good at boxing you need to be able to train about an hour and a half a day for 6 days, keeping the same training structure and the same consistency throughout the week. To become a good boxer you need to incorporate different exercises every second week to get your body into the rhythm of change and different methods.
